POSTERS

REHEARSAL SPACE is a series about artists, their songs and the places where music is created.

Every episode will feature an artist or band playing a live song in their rehearsal space, studio, or a place they feel is their own. Each performance will be followed by an intimate dialogue with the band, talking about their sources of inspiration and the story behind the song.

Our recipe is simple: music and artists with integrity, originality and, most importantly, with a point of view.

MICHAEL HILL: INTERVIEW

Michael Hill is a music supervisor for television and film. Most recently, he worked on the debut season of HBO’s Divorce, the third season of Showtime’s The Affair, the AMC drama Feed the Beast, and the Starz comedy Blunt Talk. He’d previously supervised the music for six seasons of the Showtime series Nurse Jackie; the NBC mini-series event, The Slap; Showtime’s HAPPYish;  and the Starz Network’s Golden Globe-nominated ballet drama, Flesh & Bone.

Recent film projects include Ordinary World, a music-oriented comedy starring Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day; Todd Solondz’s Weiner Dog; Ramin Bahrani’s drama 99 Homes; and Jim Strouse’s People, Places, Things. Coming in 2017:John Cameron Mitchell’s punk-era, musical, How To Talk To Girls At Parties.

Michael began a career in music supervision after 15 years in A&R at Warner Bros. Records, where he worked with such artists as the alternative-rock legends the Replacements, Luka Bloom and Soul Coughing. Each year Michael helps to curate the talent lineup for the annual Tibet House Benefit Concert at Carnegie Hall, under the artistic direction of Philip Glass.

PROCESS: PROUCTION

Since producer Tim Perell founded Process in 2001, the company has built an impressive catalogue of independent features. Titles include the punk rock mid life crisis film Ordinary World starring Billie Joe Armstrong; basketball drama Wolves starring Michael Shannon and Carla Gugino and the twisted divorce comedy A.C.O.D starring Adam Scott, Amy Poehler and Richard Jenkins,; exciting filmmakers such as John Cameron Mitchell (Hedwig and the Angry Inch), who directed the sexually charged comedy Shortbus; and great talent like Dustin Hoffman and Emma Thompson, who both received Golden Globe nods for their turns in the romance Last Chance Harvey. Process films have premiered at Sundance and Cannes, and been nominated for multiple awards.

Process is driven by great storytelling that isn’t limited to a particular genre, from dark subjects like World’s Greatest Dad, starring Robin Williams and directed by Bobcat Goldthwait, and the inventive sci-fi thriller +1 from rising-star genre director Dennis Iliadis, to lighter rom-com fare like The Rebound with Catherine Zeta-Jones and Trust the Man, featuring an all-star cast that includes David Duchovny, Julianne Moore and Billy Crudup.

Process also produces short form digital and branded content.  Process has worked with a wide range of brands – highlight projects include an award winning 4 minute film for Audi starring Claire Danes, 5 short documentaries for Adidas that were broadcast on ESPN, the viral sensation for Thug Kitchen’s first book and a short for The New Yorker starring Paul Giamatti.  Process is currently in production on an 8 part doc series for The Player’s Tribune and AFI and a 5 short film series for Visit Seattle / Sundance Channel.
